 70%
of Active Killer incidents are over in 5 minutes or less…
What will you do with your 300 seconds?

At The RAK Academy we teach Response to Active Killers (RAK) techniques that are
simple to understand, inexpensive to implement and most importantly, that will

SAVE LIVES!
Why do we use the phrase "Active Killers?"  Because those whom we would normally think of as Active Shooters,
are now learning to use other types of weapons, such as knives, vehicles and bombs.

We have training programs designed specifically for
Civilians (C-RAK), Police/911 Dispatchers (D-RAK) and Police (P-RAK).
We also offer specialized RAK programs for SROs (SRO-RAK), Investigators (I-RAK) and Command Staff (Comm-RAK)
and audience specific presentations on the Sandy Hook School Shooting.

Designed for your specific situation,
we have C-RAK programs for
Schools, Businesses and
Houses of Worship.

Our presentations engage participants in
2 - 4 hour discussions about critical steps to take if they ever find themselves
in an Active Killer incident.

Dispatch Response to Active Killers
(D-RAK)

Dispatch is usually the first member of our public safety team to become alerted to an Active Killer incident, yet they are often undertrained and undervalued as to their critical role in Active Killer incidents.  We designed D-RAK specifically for the critical roles Dispatch holds and to prepare them to save as many lives as possible.  Participants will learn how to write Active Killer Dispatch scripts and then be challenged with scenario-based training during mock Active Killer incidents.

Police Response to Active Killers (P-RAK)

Police response to Active Killer incidents has evolved significantly since the Columbine School Shooting in 1999, however we are still losing lives due to police officers' lack of understanding of their priorities of work in saving lives. Law enforcement agencies consistently miss the mark in their training programs due to insufficient data analysis and improper training methodologies. At The RAK Academy we offer a 3-day P-RAK Program or a 5-day Train-the-Trainer P-RAK Program in which we guide agencies in the establishment of their own P-RAK program. At the completion of our Train-the-Trainer, agencies will have everything in place to conduct their own P-RAK program specific to their size, capability and mission.

Police Investigators are often highly skilled in investigating homicide cases, so it is rational to believe your team is prepared for an Active Killer Investigation.  This is most likely not the case.  The enormity and uniqueness of these investigations is difficult to understand unless you've experienced it firsthand. The RAK Academy will provide the road map to prepare you for your Active Killer Investigation, specifically focusing on those areas that were unexpected and off our radars until we were in the thick of it.

Command Staff's Response to Active Killers (Comm-RAK)

Incident Command is always a challenge for law enforcement in major cases.  In an Active Killer Incident, these challenges are often magnified and can have enormous and lasting negative impact on your investigation, your personnel and most importantly, the victims and their families.  The RAK Academy will share the unforeseen obstacles of our command post operations and the decisions, both good and bad, that effected our response to the Sandy Hook School Shooting and those involved.
